Woodlawn Cemetery

This cemetery contains side by side plots of Confederate and Union veterans each with their own monument. The Confederate monument was erected in 1913 by the United Confederate Veterans and lists the names of the 30 veterans buried there.

The Union monument was erected by the Grand Army of the Republic’s Woman’s Relief Corps, and is surrounded by 21 marked veterans’ graves. Among the Union veterans buried elsewhere in this cemetery are two Medal of Honor recipients, one from the Battle of Gettysburg and the other from the Siege of Vicksburg.
