The Brick Academy
This building was erected in 1809 by Rev. Robert Finley to house a classical school founded by him in 1797. Statesmen, professional men, and business leaders were among its graduates. The academy served as a public school from 1853 to 1903. Owned by A.O.U.W. 1904-25 Jr. O.U.A.M. 1925-48. Became Township Hall 1924. Purchased by Township of Bernards 1948.
Marker is on Oak Street, on the right when traveling west.
