Gen. Philip H. Sheridan's 60,000 Federals
attacked Gen. Jubal A. Early's 18,000
Confederates. Through the advantage of
overwhelming numbers, the Federals
won the victory.
Marker is on Old Valley Pike (U.S. 11), on the right when traveling south.
