Sherman's March
Kilpatrick's Cavalry, a part of Sherman's Army, marching from Savannah to Goldsboro, passed through Rockingham on March 7-8, 1865.
Marker is at the intersection of Fayetteville Road (U.S. 1) and Richmond Road (North Carolina Route 1423), on the left when traveling east on Fayetteville Road.
