Christlike compassion moved him to leap over the stone wall, a mark for hostile guns, and carry water, again and again, to the suffering foe fallen thick in front. “Greater love hath no man than this” He fell at Chickamauga, aged 20. A tribute from the school children of Camden. A.D. 1910
