[ Lower Plaque: ]

The above plaque honors veterans who lost their lives in the first World War.

Originally the plan to place this plaque and memorial trees on this site was

interrupted by the death of Colonel Theodore Roosevelt in January 1919.

The cornerstone below is from the Quentin Roosevelt Post No. 4 American

Legion Hall dedicated by Quentin Roosevelt II, son of Medal of Honor winner

Brigadier General Theodore Roosevelt Jr.

Marker is at the intersection of South Street (County Route 106) and Lexington Avenue / Berry Hill Road, on the left when traveling south on South Street.
