Old City Well
This artesian well was drilled in 1880. It provided an unlimited supply of pure water and became a gathering place for Camilla’s citizens. When a water system was installed, the City Well lost its usefulness. Through the efforts of the Cherokee Garden Club and the County Commissioners, the well was restored in 1963.
Marker is at the intersection of South Court Avenue and East Broad Street (Georgia Route 37), on the left when traveling south on South Court Avenue.
