Oelsner Mound Historic Marker
Built by Native Americans around 1,000 years ago, this mound is all that remains of a little-known Native American community. The mound was excavated in 1879 by S. T. Walker of the Smithsonian Institution.
The mound is preserved as a small park in a residential neighborhood and is surrounded by a short stone wall.
