Dedicated to all Merchant Marine Seaman
Members of the U.S. Merchant Marines serving world wide aboard
U.S. Flag cargo ships during World War II suffered a greater
percentage of war-related deaths than did all of the
nation’s regular armed forces combined.
The Merchant Marine Seaman suffered losses of 3.4%
Of the over 200,000 serving, with 6,798 killed.
The total of all other armed services suffered losses of 1.78%.
We were granted U.S. Armed Forces Veteran status January 19, 1986.
National Maritime Day is May 22nd.
