Magnolia Springs Cemetery

In 1864, Union forces established a strongpoint at Magnolia, a small community on the west bank of the St. Johns River, and used it as a base for conducting raids into the surrounding countryside. This cemetery contains the remains of at least 10 Union soldiers, including casualties from an October 1864 skirmish following a raid on Middleburg.

In 2011, a 6-foot tall obelisk monument honoring Civil War soldiers was dedicated at the cemetery.
