M101A1 105mm Towed Howitzers

The 105 howitzer was first put into full production in 1934. They were used for the support of the infantry soldier. Each artillery battery consisted of 5 guns, each with the capability of firing shells a distance of 8 miles. The 105 howitzer was used in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam before being modified in 1985.
Marker can be reached from Ohio Route 151 west of Local Highway 62, on the right when traveling west.
