Kittiewan and Doctor Rickman
Two miles south is Kittiewan, mid-eighteenth century manor house. Here lived Doctor William Rickman. From 1776 to 1780 he was director and Chief Physician of the Continental Hospitals of Virginia.
Marker is at the intersection of John Tyler Memorial Highway (State Highway 5) and Weyanoke Road (State Route 619), on the right when traveling east on John Tyler Memorial Highway.
