Jones’ Crossroads
This crossing served during July 10-15, 1863, as an anchor for the flanks of such gathering Federal forces as the Reserve Artillery and the Second, Third, and Twelfth Corps. Minor skirmishes with elements of Lee's besieged Army of Northern Virginia occurred here.
Marker is at the intersection of Lappans Road (Maryland Route 68) and Sharpsburg Pike (Maryland Route 65), on the right when traveling west on Lappans Road.
