John Fox House
Built on this site c. 1832, this vernacular farm house was home to the family of John Fox (1805-1884), whose plantation, The Point, was located 3 miles northwest of here. Fox served as Sheriff, Clerk of Court, Representative, and Senator for Lexington District. In 1969, the house was acquired and restored for the county museum and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Marker can be reached from Fox Street, on the right when traveling south.
