John Fitch’s Gun Shop

During the Revolution, Fitch manufactured guns for the Continental Army at this site. In 1786, he built the first boat in America to be propelled by steam. His last steamboat made regular Trenton – Philadelphia runs on the Delaware in 1790.

Marker is on North Warren Street 0.1 miles south of Bank Street, on the right when traveling south.
