John Crowe Ransom

A noted poet, editor, and educator, John Crowe Ransom (1888-1974) was one of a group of southern agrarian poets known as the Fugitives. Ransom's first teaching position at age 17, was at Taylorsville High School (1905-1906). He later became a distinguished professor at Vanderbilt University and at Kenyon College in Grambler, Ohio.
