Fort Casimir

was built by the Dutch in 1651 and recaptured by them from the Swedes, 1655. Site now lies beneath the Delaware 250 feet E.N.E. from this stone which is erected by the Delaware Society of the Colonial Dames of America, 1905, to commemorate the period of the Dutch colonization on the Delaware.

Marker is at the intersection of Second Street and Chestnut Street on Second Street.
