Florida Monument - Chickamauga
Fought on September 19-20, 1863, the Battle of Chickamauga was one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War, with nearly 35,000 Union and Confederate casualties
Seven Florida units participated in the battle and suffered over 550 dead, wounded, missing, or captured.
The large Florida Monument at the battlefield was constructed between 1912-1913, and was dedicated in May 1913 during the twenty-third National United Confederate Veterans Reunion held at nearby Chattanooga, Tennessee.
