Charles E. Rowell
Mayor of Stamford
Jan. 1, 1911 to Dec. 31, 1913

Died March 29, 1914
A skilfull physician, a loyal friend,
an efficient public officer, he
served the truth as he saw it with
singular courage and devotion.
"One who never turned his back but
Marched breast forward,
Never doubted clouds would break,
Never dreamed, though right
Were worsted, wring would triumph,
Held, we fall to rise, are baffled
To fight better, sleep to wake"
Marker is at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Main Street, on the left when traveling north on Washington Boulevard.
