Asilomar Conference Grounds

Established in 1913, this was designed as the Young Women's Christian Association's national camp and conference grounds in the West. It is significant for its role in the work of the Association and in the development of the Monterey Peninsula as a resort area. The complex is important as an outstanding work of California architect Julia Morgan, one of the first women to achieve eminence in the architectural profession in this country.
