31 West Main Street

The first building on this corner was a two story, frame dwelling, built in the early 1800s. The property was purchased by the Middletown Savings Bank in 1907, and the house was soon moved to the rear of the lot. The current building was built in 1909 for the bank, which occupied it until 1937 when it was sold to the Grangers Mutual Insurance Company. Grangers used it as offices until purchased by the Burgess and Commissioners for use as a Town Hall in 1998.

Marker is on West Main Street / Old National Road (Alternate U.S. 40), on the right when traveling west.
