This regiment was engaged here at 4.30 p.m. April 6, 1862 and assisted in repelling a cavalry charge and an attack by Pond's brigade. It then retired to the siege guns.
Marker is on Cavalry Road ¼ mile west of Hamburg-Savannah Road, on the right when traveling west.
