At about 10 a.m. April 7, 1862 these regiments advanced from this position and engaged the enemy that was sheltered behind a breastwork of logs in Marsh's brigade camp.
Marker is on Cavalry Road ¾ mile west of Hamburg-Savannah Road, on the right when traveling west.
